Entertainment & Outings

At Cornfield we provide a range of group and individual activities arranged by the Activity Therapist. These activities include music, singing, reading clubs, games & puzzles. Local school choirs and other groups also attend to provide entertainment to our residents. Our home also provides a library, and each suite has its own social room where residents can watch television. We have our own minibuses which are used to bring residents to local amenities, hospital appointments and attend events of interest in the local community. They are also used to bring residents to special occasions with family. During the summer months, a weekly day trip is arranged for each suite.

The Best of Care

Cornfield is able to offer the highest standard of permanent and respite care within the Centre for general frail, elderly or those people with Alzheimer's and Dementia. We take a holistic approach to the physical, mental, spiritual and emotional needs of the resident and tailor our continuous nursing care to individual needs which we review on a regular basis. We appreciate that moving home is a very stressful time and a trial period can be arranged to ease the stress.

128 Bedrooms, across 5 suites

We have different suites to cater for different needs. Each suite is totally self-contained and very well appointed. All bedrooms are single ensuite with most bedrooms having private access from their patio doors to the beautiful grounds, either overlooking the pond or an internal courtyard where bubbling water and wind rustling trees can be enjoyed. All bedrooms have a direct line telephone and a television point capable of receiving satellite and terrestrial channels. Cornfield has the facility to offer day care for one resident each day in each unit.

Fresh Meals, Prepared by Us

Our in-house catering team meet all the resident's dietary needs with nutritious, appetising meals and snacks. All meals are made fresh on the day of serving. We attempt to accommodate all likes and dislikes and will endeavour to attend to any dietary requirements. All tray bakes and scones are baked in-house. Each unit is equipped with a night kitchen and relatives can avail of the tea and coffee making facilities at any time outside set meal times.
